World History Assignment for Thursday, 4-2

Hey guys, please be sure to complete the Exploration test before the break. 

 As we got the announcement that we will not return to school, recognize that these on-line assignments will determine your grade.

Since we only have two days we will not start another big topic of study. We will do two quick views of subjects that I have let stand alone and not be part of a big unit. The first is The Scientific Revolution. It is a consequence of the Renaissance and Enlightenment. Our approach will be a little simpler and quicker. I have a quiz on Quizizz that will teach the main points I want you to know. As with all these "formative" assessments they are designed with unlimited attempts and redemption questions, etc with the idea of letting the quiz "teach." Should be quick and easy, enjoy. Tomorrow we will do the same thing with a quick study of "Muslim Empires."

Government-important additions to notes

As you all know, we use Mr. Dean's notes for Government. The basic notes are good, but need some elaboration that I usually do in class discussion. So I will add and clarify some key points that will be included on the test Tuesday below. Conflict at Constitutional Convention 2 opposing views: Large states v. Small states The ideas of both were presented in two written "plans": The Virginia Plan was the large states plan written by James Madison. He arrived with it already written. Madison had been the main person pushing hard to get rid of the Articles and devise a stronger national government.  The Virginia plan wanted to have representation based entirely on population of the state. VA was the largest state and would have the most power, but also Madison saw this as "We the People." The people should have the most power not the states. Monday 3-16 General instructions/guidance for Government and World History

Good Morning to all my students. As we deal with this virus we are "making history." Never before has our nation had to deal with such issues. Econ students, remember our discussion about how bad it was in the USSR when they ran out of toilet paper... Well, in some places... As the saying came to be in the Great Depression, "how long will it take for the invisible hand to work?" I have no doubt that the laws of self-interest, competition and supply and demand will kick in. Hopefully we won't experience "demand-pull" inflation. (I did notice that steak was really high at Publix Saturday, so I got a good price on rib-eye at Walmart, competition...)  These times make us all have to deal with the realities of life.
