Government Assignment for Thursday, 4-2/ test review Quizizz

Hey guys, with the announcement that we will not return to school it makes me sad. I miss y'all and our interaction.

Recognize that now your grade will be determined entirely by these on-line assignments. Some of you would fail government at this point. I suggest strongly that you finish this week strong and complete the Constitution test before the break. Also, if you have friends that have difficulty due to lack of technology capability or resources, then please help them. 

 My plan for the Constitution test review is to post on this one entry several quizzes that will help you prepare for the Constitution test. Recognize that we have broken the Constitution down into parts to make it more manageable. The parts are:

  • The Preamble
  • Articles 1-3
  • Articles 4-7
  • Principles of the Constitution
  • Powers of the Constitution (Prohibited Powers)
  • The Amendments
Review the Sway notes on each topic. On my next entry I will post all the Sway notes on one post.

Government-important additions to notes

As you all know, we use Mr. Dean's notes for Government. The basic notes are good, but need some elaboration that I usually do in class discussion. So I will add and clarify some key points that will be included on the test Tuesday below. Conflict at Constitutional Convention 2 opposing views: Large states v. Small states The ideas of both were presented in two written "plans": The Virginia Plan was the large states plan written by James Madison. He arrived with it already written. Madison had been the main person pushing hard to get rid of the Articles and devise a stronger national government.  The Virginia plan wanted to have representation based entirely on population of the state. VA was the largest state and would have the most power, but also Madison saw this as "We the People." The people should have the most power not the states. Monday 3-16 General instructions/guidance for Government and World History

Good Morning to all my students. As we deal with this virus we are "making history." Never before has our nation had to deal with such issues. Econ students, remember our discussion about how bad it was in the USSR when they ran out of toilet paper... Well, in some places... As the saying came to be in the Great Depression, "how long will it take for the invisible hand to work?" I have no doubt that the laws of self-interest, competition and supply and demand will kick in. Hopefully we won't experience "demand-pull" inflation. (I did notice that steak was really high at Publix Saturday, so I got a good price on rib-eye at Walmart, competition...)  These times make us all have to deal with the realities of life.
