Welcome to World History! We have begun with a study of the beginnings of human history. If you miss class please see me at the beginning of the first class that you return. I will provide you with a handout of all materials missed.

Unit 1 focuses on the foundations of government. I will provide outlines for each PowerPoint used to teach the material. If you miss a day see me your first day back and I will provide the outline and print a copy of the PP for you. This approach will be followed throughout the semester.

For week of 8/29/2016 Government is studying the Legislative Branch. We will learn about the structure, powers, benefits Congressmen receive and how a bill becomes a law. Unit test on the Legislative Branch will be after Labor Day. World History is studying the Greeks. We will learn about the city-states, their conflicts, the impact of the Persians Wars, the war between Sparta and Athens, the reign of Alexander the Great and the legacy of the Greeks. Unit test on the Greeks will be after Labor Day.

Government Government class will complete study of the Constitution on Monday, review Tuesday and a major test on the Constitution Wednesday. World History World History will complete a unit on world religions and the First Age of Empires on Tuesday and have a major test on Wednesday.

Welcome to school year 2016. This blog will be a basic guide to what is happening in my classes. World History is working on the beginnings of civilization. The students get handouts in class that will meet all their academic needs. If they are absent, the first day they return to class I give them everything they need. In the future I will place all resources on Cobb County's Office 365 Drive. I will notify everyone of when I get that entered.   G overnment  is working on the foundations of government.
